General Overview
La Graviere is a top rated, world class beach break and the jewel of the Hossegor regions waves. During the high seasons summer months the waves are smaller, crispy, super fun and ultra jammed with surfers, boogieboarders and your odd bodysurfer hailing from every corner of the globe. As autumn approaches the swells increase in intensity, the waves build in size and strength while the crowds begin to return home.
The strong westerly swells generate serious, gut wrenching, hollow, sand-spitting barrels that can cause even a seasoned surf-pro to get a case of shaky-knee. The rips can make a strong mans arms to crumble, the thick liped shore break eats boards for breakfast and the merciless closeouts have caused many to crawl out of the water. It’s full on North Shore chaos in Southwestern France. If you’re up to it get your special mojo working, paddle out and surf the best, with the best.
