The Maldives is another tropical surf paradise that straddles the equator and offers 80F degree water year round. 1,190 coral islands form an archipelago of 26 major atolls that make up the Maldives. You’ll experience infinite shades of blue, the whitest, softest sandy beaches and a spectacular and truly eye-opening aquatic experience while visiting the Maldives
The surf season in the Maldives is determined largely by the two monsoon seasons: the north-east monsoon from December to April and the south-west monsoon from May to October. Surf season runs from February to November with the early part of the season providing the most stable weather. You’ll find the biggest swells and consistent off-shore winds from June to August, but be on the lookout for tropical storms. The average size of reef breaks range from 3-8 feet and can get up to 10+ feet with peak monsoon conditions.
Health: There aren't many serious health risks in the Maldives. Be wary of sun burns and heat exhaustion.
Safety: Although the crime rate is very low in the Maldives, use common sense by traveling in groups and not being flashy with your cash or your gear.
